Welcome to 2013

We trust our members have had an enjoyable Christmas, summer and break.

Our first parade for all cadets is Monday 11 Feb 13.

All cadet NCOs (and those who completed JLC in December) are to parade from 1830h - 2100h on 04 Feb 13.

There is a draft schedule for 2013 activities on the downloads page of www.305acu.org - note there may some changes to dates depending on availability of Defence resources etc.

Note that annual fees are now $120 per year, these fees are payable in advance, no later that 28 Feb 13. Personalised invoices are not send out - a receipt can be provided upon request. Fees should preferably be paid by direct deposit - with cadet's surname and initial as a reference.  Direct deposit details are on the contact page of www.305acu.org.

Cadets and parents are reminded that all issued uniform, equipment etc remain Commonwealth property and are to be returned immediately a cadet ceases to parade with the unit.

We have an urgent need to raise cadet numbers at the unit.  So we urge all parents and cadets to spread the word to family and friends and invite new recruits during February.  We will be conduct recruiting visits at a number of schools during February, if you have a contact or would like a visit to your school, please contact CUO Nikola Surla (nikola.surla@cadetnet.gov.au or 0422 220 525).

A reminder that cadets are expected to check www.305acu.org for updates and important information, and that cadets are required to advise of any absences from Monday night parades by email (not Facebook, SMS, messages via friends etc) to leave@305acu.org

Vietnam Veterans Museum Visit

On Saturday, 08 Sep 12, a few of us went to the Vietnam Veterans Museum in Philip Island. First we had a tour, quick explanation of the vehicles that they had there including one of the Hueys that flew resupply missions during the battle at Long Tan. We saw a movie sort of a thing explaining the battle of Long Tan and how one man's last wish ended up sending all the dead solders back to Australia. I found the museum very interring and insightful to the lives of those men who served in the Vietnam War.
